About Dr Lawrence Malisano

Dr Lawrence Malisano is a specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon. His practice specialises in treating Hip and Knee conditions, including soft tissue knee injuries as well as hip and knee joint replacement surgery. He aims to achieve the best possible outcome for your hip or knee condition.
Dr Malisano received his medical degree from the University of Queensland. Following his postgraduate training in Queensland, he obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). Dr Malisano’s subsequent fellowship experience included appointments in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London (United Kingdom), a Trauma Fellowship at The University Hospital in Bochum (Germany), and a Reconstruction and Trauma Fellowship at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto (Canada).
Dr Malisano is a Senior Orthopaedic Specialist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in Brisbane. He is involved in research and teaching, with an education role within the Medical School at the University of Queensland and as Faculty on Regional, National and International Courses for Surgeons.
Dr Malisano is a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association, a foundation member of the Arthroplasty Society of Australia (ASA), and a member of the Australian Orthopaedic Trauma Association (AOTS), the Australian Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons (ASOS), the Australian Medical Association (AMA) and a life member of Sports Medicine Australia (SMA), Queensland branch.
Dr Malisano is the recent past President of the Australian Orthopaedic Association and recent past Vice President of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
